Vintage Boro Indigo Cotton Noragi
A vintage indigo noragi kimono from the early to mid-20th century. Noragi were everyday work jackets worn by farmers in rural Japan. This piece is made from indigo-dyed cotton with a very fine woven check pattern. It has been well worn and shows layers of mending and patchwork built up over time, making it an authentic example of true boro.
The bodice remains sturdy, while the sleeves have areas of thinning and holes that speak to its long life of use. A beautifully aged piece of Japanese workwear that carries both history and character.
The last four photos show the inside parts.
