Vintage Ceramic Oshidori Obidome
A vintage 'obidome', a kimono accessory from the early to mid-20th century that functions like a brooch, worn with the 'obijime' cord placed atop the obi. This obidome is made from ceramic in the shape of a pair of 'oshidori' - mandarin ducks, symbolizing lovers and couples as they are often seen swimming together. It's one of Japan’s auspicious motifs.
This item comes with the original flat silk cord, but the cord can be replaced with your own as long as it is flat and of a certain width.
It can also be used as a versatile accessory for craft projects.
