Vintage Women’s Black Silk Haori with Red Lining
A women’s silk haori from the mid-20th century, crafted from black rinzu (silk jacquard) that drapes beautifully. The vibrant red silk lining is decorated with snapper (tai) and lobster (ise ebi), both auspicious symbols in Japanese culture. The snapper represents good fortune and celebration, while the lobster, with its curved back, is associated with longevity and a long life. Together, they make this haori especially suited for festive occasions and a meaningful addition for collectors.
This haori has a single embroidered family crest on the back, traditionally regarded as semi-formal wear.
Overall in good condition, with a couple of small spots on the right sleeve.
