A women's 'fukuro' obi with gold and silver threads woven in. The motif features 'shikishi' paper (a special kind of Japanese card paper often used for painting, drawing, and autographs) with trees, waves, and flowers. The obi is in good recycled condition.

Fukuro obi is the most common type of obi worn for formal or semi formal occasions since the 1950s. It is a simplified version of fully patterned Maru obi, usually patterns on two-thirds of the front length with a plain, full-length back.
