Women's Hexagon Patchwork Obi

A vintage/recycled women's 'fukuro' obi featuring a unique hexagon patchwork design. It is in good recycled condition. The plain sections on both the front and back are woven from light grey silk, as shown in the last photo.

Fukuro obi is the most common type of obi worn for formal or semi formal occasions since the 1950s. It is a simplified version of fully patterned Maru obi, usually patterns on two-thirds of the front length with a plain, full-length back.
