Rare Antique Indigo Katazome Cotton Hollyhock Arabesque

A rare piece of antique indigo katazome stencil-dyed cotton from the early 20th century, featuring a striking hollyhock arabesque motif.

This particular piece showcases a twisted variation of the design, with a predominance of white, undyed areas over indigo, an unusual style known as jishiro.

Originally part of a futon cover, the fabric shows signs of use, including some fading, a subtle stain, and a mended patch, but remains in good condition for its age.
