Antique Indigo Tsutsugaki Cotton Panel
A panel of indigo Tsutsugaki dyed cotton from a futon cover, dating back to the early 20th century. It features three bold and elegant circular floral motifs - peony, chrysanthemum, and bamboo. Tsutsugaki is a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique, in which designs are drawn freehand onto fabric using rice paste.
This piece is in excellent condition and beautifully showcases the artistry of hand-dyed work.
