An antique Japanese hemp textile, woven from thick natural hemp threads. The purpose of the piece is uncertain, though its substantial handwoven texture and repaired surface suggest it was once an everyday utilitarian household cloth. This piece has a slightly coarse hand and rustic texture. 

The cloth is in good antique condition overall, with minor wear.
