Yuki Tsumugi Silk Fukuro Obi

A new/recycled women’s obi made from Yuki Tsumugi, a special type of silk originating along the Kinugawa River in Ibaraki and Tochigi Prefectures. Renowned for its light, soft, and warm qualities, Yuki Tsumugi is crafted from handspun silk floss, offering a gentle yet durable texture that only improves with time. It’s considered one of Japan’s finest silk fabrics.

This obi is naturally dyed and features a hand-done shibori floral design. It has not yet been fully made into an obi, so it has no stiffening cloth inside, and both ends are not sewn, simply folded. It’s perfect for decorative use or as a soft sash for kimono.
