Vintage Men's Silk Formal Haori

A men's black silk haori with a family crest 'Mon' for traditionally formal occasions.

Haori is a traditional Japanese outerwear garment, similar to a jacket or cardigan, worn over a kimono. It features an open straight neck, providing a relaxed fit.

This haori is made from plain weave silk which has a smooth surface and a beautiful sheen and its lining has a stunning hand painted drawing such as Mount Fuji, feathers of hawks and silk brocade in the shape of an eggplant.

In Japanese culture, the first dream of the year is believed to foretell the luck of the dreamer for the rest of the year. Dreaming of Mount Fuji, a hawk, and an eggplant is considered particularly auspicious and brings good luck.

It is in good condition, with the exception of some stains on the sleeve lining.
