Rare Vintage Indigo Cotton Hanten
A vintage indigo hanten jacket from the early to mid-20th century. Hanten were traditionally worn by workers or group members as a uniform, often featuring the company or organization name on the collar and the logo on the back. This particular jacket belonged to a local rescue organization that assisted people during floods and fires. The character 水 (water) represents floods, and 火 (fire) represents fires, and the logo character in the circle 土 (earth/soil) may symbolise stability or the element associated with disaster response.
The jacket shows signs of age, including some holes, fading and a mend.
