Vintage Indigo Check Cotton with Mend

A vintage Japanese indigo cotton piece featuring a simple large check design in soft blue and white. Originally part of a futon cover, the fabric has a gently faded indigo tone.

The piece has several old hand-stitched repairs using plain and kasuri cotton pieces. Some repairs have been applied along the edges and corners from the reverse to reinforce worn areas and cover holes.

It is in good vintage condition with signs of age and use, including old repairs. It has been washed and is ready to use.
