Vintage Indigo Tsutsugaki Cotton Furoshiki
A three-panel 'tsutsugaki' dyed 'furoshiki' from the early to mid 20th century. Tsutsugaki is a Japanese resist dyeing technique that uses rice paste for freehand drawing on cloth. This piece features a traditional Japanese combination of three auspicious motifs 'sho-chiku-bai' (pine tree, bamboo, and plum blossom) with a family crest.
There are signs of use and a 5 cm cut on one corner.
