Vintage Sakiori Woven Cloth Panel
A vintage sakiori rag-weaving cloth panel, woven from shredded strips of recycled kimono and futon covers. Sakiori developed in rural Japan as a practical weaving technique to extend the life of worn textiles, transforming fabric remnants into durable, richly textured cloth. This piece originally was part of a larger blanket and comes from the Tohoku region in northern Japan.
This vintage fragment is in good condition, with expected signs of age, fading and wear that add to its character and reflect its history.
