Vintage Wasarasa Cotton Piece
A vintage wasarasa cotton fragment originally used as a kimono lining, likely from the shoulder area. The fabric features a delicate Tatewaku flowing line motif with small stylised floral forms inspired by imported chintz designs.
Wasarasa refers to Japanese-printed cotton textiles influenced by Southeast Asian and European trade fabrics, produced and used from the late Edo to early Showa period for household textiles and kimono linings.
Lightweight with a soft handle. Please note there is an approximately 10cm cut at the neck point area, along with light signs of age and use consistent with its original purpose.
